This show was performed as part of the LSU Mainstage Season and was produced in the Reilly Theatre. Five Flights is cenetered around scenes that take place in a delapidated aviary. The Reilly Theatre is a converted livestock pavilion with dirt and wood floors, a high ceiling, and exposed steel roof trusses. This allowed for lots of depth and space in creating the aural world of the play. The show was programmed in QLab using multi-channel playback through 12 different speakers. The aural world began with a preshow soundscape of the sounds of the aviary. The design used found music as moments of underscoring in addition to sound scapes throughout the show. In the middle of the show, several of the characters attend a performance of the ballet, The Firebird and we watch a condensed version of the ballet through their reactions. This is a stereo reduction of several of the moments in the show.
